FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below you’ll find helpful information about various policies and services as you prepare for your voyage with Bellamar. If you have additional questions, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

RESERVATION

  • Is a deposit required to secure my voyage? To secure your voyage, a 50 euro deposit is required at the time of booking. This ensures your preferred departure time is exclusively reserved for your party.

How is the remaining balance settled? To ensure a smooth transaction, the remaining balance is settled in cash with your skipper at the end of your voyage.

Can I settle my balance via card? We are happy to facilitate card payments, but recommend cash for your convenience. Due to the secluded nature of Port Lligat, mobile coverage at the dock can be inconsistent, occasionally affecting terminal connectivity. Please note that card transactions incur an additional 5% processing fee.

Can I have an official invoice? Certainly. Should you require an invoice, please inform us ahead of time so we may have it prepared and ready for you upon your arrival.

  • We understand that plans may change. You may reschedule or cancel your voyage for a full refund of your deposit up to 7 days prior to your scheduled departure. As Bellamar is reserved exclusively for your party, cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 7 days of your voyage are non-refundable, and the full balance of the cost of the voyage remains payable.

What happens in the event of unfavorable weather? Your safety is our paramount priority. Should the wind or sea conditions be unsuitable for a safe and comfortable journey, your skipper will personally work with you to reschedule your voyage. If a new date is not possible, a full refund of your deposit will be issued within 24 hours.

  • Are children welcome aboard, and is there a minimum age limit? We are delighted to welcome guests of all generations, including infants and children of all ages. Our private voyages offer a safe and serene setting for families to discover the coast together. For their safety and comfort, we ask that younger guests remain under the attentive care of their parents or guardians throughout the journey.

Do you provide lifejackets for younger guests? Your family’s safety is our paramount priority. We provide lifejackets for both children and adults, available upon request for your complete peace of mind while on the water.

Can I bring my pet on the voyage? We are pleased to welcome pets aboard to share in the experience. As with all our guests, we ask that pets remain under the dedicated care of their owners for the duration of the voyage.

  • While the Bellamar offers a cozy and intimate setting for groups of up to 4, we are delighted to host larger parties of up to 10 guests. For these occasions, we invite you to experience Gala - the original vessel of the world famous artist, Salvador Dalí - which is perfectly suited for larger groups to enjoy the bay together.

You may reserve your group voyage directly through our Reservation Page, or should you wish to discuss a bespoke arrangement, please reach out to us personally. We look forward to assisting you.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

  • Where do we meet? We will be waiting for you at Port Lligat Beach, directly in front of Salvador Dalí’s iconic house. Port Lligat is just a short walk from the center of Cadaqués, and our classic boat is moored at the first available dock. View our location on Google Maps.

Is parking available nearby? Yes. There is a large parking area located just off the beach, only a two-minute walk from our boat. View the parking locaiton on Google Maps.

When should we arrive for the voyage? To ensure a smooth departure and give you the full time on the water, please aim to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled voyage.

  • To best enjoy your time on the water, we recommend bringing swimwear, towels, and sun protection. Snorkeling equipment is provided on board, but you’re welcome to bring your own too of course. A light windproof layer is also a good idea for evening voyages on cooler days, as the breeze can feel refreshing on the water.

For your safety and to protect the traditional timber of our decks, we recommend wearing soft-soled shoes or going barefoot. Your skipper will assist you to get on and off the boat should you wish, to ensure a steady and comfortable transition between the dock and the boat.

For your comfort, a selection of chilled soft drinks is provided on board. If you have chosen to enhance your voyage with our local tapas or breakfast, your skipper will freshly prepare your selection once we reach our destination.

  • There is limited storage available beneath the seating area for small items. As Bellamar is an open, traditional vessel, we recommend bringing only what is essential and using waterproof bags to ensure your belongings remain protected from the sea spray.

DURING YOUR VOYAGE

  • Every journey aboard Bellamar is a bespoke experience tailored to capture the best of the moment, whether its the sunrise breaking over the horizon, stopping to watch dolphins playfully summersault, or anchoring to dive in the clearers of waters… your voyage is designed to create a deep connection with the beautiful coast, the way it was meant to be experienced.

Your time with us typically includes:

    • Welcome: Your skipper meets you at the dock in front of Bellamar and provides a brief safety briefing to ensure you feel entirely at ease before we set sail.

    • Coastal Discovery: We navigate the dramatic cliffs of the Cap de Creus Natural Park or the quaint village of Cadaqués, with your skipper available to share local insights along the way.

    • Swimming & Snorkeling: We anchor in stunning bays known for their crystal-clear waters, allowing you time to swim or explore the sea life using our onboard snorkeling equipment.

    • Leisure & Refreshments: Soak in the peace and relaxation on deck with chilled beverages. If you have selected a culinary enhancement, your skipper will freshly prepare your tapas or breakfast during our stops.

Please note: For the safety and well-being of all guests, the enjoyment of alcohol is always at the professional discretion of the skipper.

  • We tailor each route to capture the best of the moment, whether we are witnessing the sunrise over the open water or watching the sun set behind the rugged cliffs of the coast.

We may navigate toward the wild beauty of the Cap de Creus Natural Park or head toward Cadaqués to admire the village architecture from the sea. A half-day voyage can reach as far as the secluded Cala Culip, while a full-day experience allows us the time to discover multiple hidden bays throughout the park.

  • We offer three curated enhancements to your voyage, each featuring local specialties sourced fresh for your journey:

    • Breakfast on Board: Artisanal croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, seasonal fruits, and a selection of soft drinks.

    • Local Tapas and Wine: Authentic Cadaqués anchovies, Spanish cured hams and cheeses, traditional tomato bread (pa amb tomàquet), and typical accompaniments, served with local wine and fresh fruit.

    • Cadaqués Taps and Wine: A taste of local history featuring Taps - traditional, sponge cakes unique to our village - perfectly paired with local wine.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements? We are delighted to offer vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free alternatives for all our menus. Please indicate any allergies or preferences in the ‘Dietary Requirements’ field when booking. (Note: As traditional Taps contain gluten and are non-vegan, we will provide a delicious sweet alternative for gluten-free and vegan guests).

Are drinks included, or may I bring my own? Chilled water and soft drinks are provided on every voyage. You are also more than welcome to bring your own picnic or preferred beverages to enjoy on board.

When should I reserve my food selection? To ensure everything is sourced fresh from our local providers, please select your choices at the time of booking.
